Jihan Falah served for over 20 years with the United Nations as an Administrative Assistant in the Communications Department of a peacekeeping mission, contributing to global efforts for peace and cooperation. Alongside her husband, Hani Diab, she immigrated to Canada in 2000, seeking a better life and educational opportunities for their children. Their only son, Marc, proudly enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and gave his life in service while deployed in Afghanistan. To honor Marc’s memory and carry forward his dream, Jihan, Hani, and their two daughters—together with their families—opened a Lebanese restaurant in Petawawa, the town where Marc was stationed. The restaurant stands as a tribute to his legacy and a celebration of their cultural heritage. Jihan’s story is one of strength, devotion, and the power of family in the face of profound sacrifice.
