Dean DiPietro

I would like to begin by thanking Patrick Armstrong and his team for reaching out and inviting me to serve as a judge for Dancing with the Stars. I am truly honored to be here and to represent the Arnold family.

My bestfriend, Glen Arnold, was killed 20 years ago on September 18, 2006. Glen's memory continues to live on through the people whose lives he touched and through events such as this that recognize and honor those we have lost. I was also here last year when the Arnold family was presented with a defibrillator dedicated in Glen's memory. It was a meaningful tribute and a reminder that his legacy continues to make a difference in the community.                                                        

Being asked to participate today is both humbling and special. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to help celebrate this event while remembering those who are no longer with us but are never forgotten.

Dean DiPietro is a retired Sergeant of the Canadian Armed Forces who proudly served Canada for 25 years, including deployments to Croatia and Afghanistan. Throughout his military career, he developed a strong commitment to leadership, service, and helping others—values that continue to guide him today.

Following his retirement, Dean continued his commitment to service through volunteerism, community leadership, and supporting initiatives that bring people together. Passionate about building stronger communities, he has dedicated countless hours to organizing events, supporting charitable causes, and helping create opportunities for people to connect and support one another. Whether working with veterans, supporting local families, or leading community initiatives, Dean believes that positive change begins when people come together with a shared purpose.

Dean and his wife, Grace, have been married for 23 years and are proud parents of six children and grandparents to eight grandchildren. Their family has experienced both life's greatest blessings and its deepest challenges. Three years ago, they lost their son, Andrew, after his battle with mental health and addiction. Through that loss, Dean and Grace have become advocates for compassion, understanding, and support for individuals and families navigating similar struggles.

Today, Dean continues to dedicate his time to community service, veteran support, and initiatives that strengthen the lives of those around him. His commitment to service and in his community—reflects a lifelong belief in helping others and making a positive difference wherever possible.

From military service to community leadership, Dean's journey has been defined by a simple belief: that every person has the ability to make a difference. Through service, compassion, and a commitment to helping others, he continues to honor that belief every day
