Kari Dart - Deputy Commissioner

Provincial Commander – Culture and Strategy Services, Deputy Commissioner Kari Dart joined the OPP in 1995 with the Sharbot Lake Detachment. She went on to serve in various roles, including as Area Crime Supervisor in Orillia and in Northumberland, as an investigator with the Professional Standards Bureau, and as Major Case Manager with the Criminal Investigation Branch.

Deputy Commissioner Dart also led Provincial Communications Operations, Communications and Technology Services Bureau and the Serious Fraud Office. She served as Commander, Investigation and Support Bureau and held the position of Interim Deputy Commissioner, Provincial Commander, Investigations and Organized Crime.

Deputy Commissioner Dart holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Laurentian University and a postgraduate diploma from Georgian College. She is also a graduate of the Rotman School of Management Police Leadership Program, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) Global Studies Program and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. She is the holder of the Police Exemplary Service Medal, recognizing 30 years of service in an exemplary manner. In 2025, she was awarded with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, recognizing significant contributions to Canada.

Deputy Commissioner Dart is a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.
